Connections Arts Centre Connecting the Disability Community Through the Arts

We operate under three guiding principles; Creativity, Community, and Change.

We harness the power of creativity to elevate individuals within the disability community.

We champion Arts, Lifestyle, and Community Education programmes that promote inclusion, bridge educational gaps, and counteract devaluation for people with disabilities.

CA Collective Exhibition at the RHA!

The CA Collective was proud and honoured to exhibit at the Royal Hibernian Academy, from 16th February through 28th April, 2024.

The exhibition at the RHA marked a ground-breaking moment in the art world. This was the inaugural occasion for a collective of artists living with intellectual disabilities to showcase their work at the RHA, a prestigious art institution.

Based on the success and reception of the artists work, the RHA has committed to hosting exhibitions for the CA Collective for 2025 and 2026. View images from the opening event, exhibition, and celebration event by clicking the button below.

    Supporting The Community

The interim standards for the New Directions report (HSE, Updated 2018) recommends that organisations that support adults with disabilities,

“recognise that value of creative expression and support people to access and participate in New Directions Services and Supports for Adults with Disabilities, opportunities for creative and self-expression within their local community”.

There is a lack of suitable, accessible, inclusive social spaces for adults with disabilities to participate in community-based Lifestyle and Arts programs, or to gather and socialise with their peers and community. Connections Arts Centre offering is central to helping such organisations meet this requirement.
