‘‘As a participant in the Connecting Artists programme, I want to enhance my artist portfolio and connect with other artists. My goal is to encourage people with disabilities to pursue their dreams and careers’’.
— Jennifer Humphreys, Connecting Artists 2023 Participant.
My name is Jennifer Humphreys and I am a 31-year-old hearing loss artist residing in Blackrock, Cork, Ireland. I am a student studying illustration and other FETAC levels in art, design, craft, and fine arts at St. John's Central College Cork. I have been creating art for nearly 12 years. I am influenced by various styles, including expressionism, surrealism, and abstract art.
Having personally experienced hearing loss six years ago, I understand the challenges and triumphs of navigating the art world with a disability.
I have showcased my work in college exhibitions over the past two years and participated in the Cope Foundation City Hall Cork exhibition a year ago. As a participant in the Connecting Artists program, I want to enhance my artist portfolio and connect with inspiring individuals. My goal is to encourage people with disabilities to pursue their dreams and careers.
I showcase my artwork through my Instagram pages so please follow and share to support my artistic journey.
